World’s Smallest Squirt

Hi all!

Alisha here, I wanted to showcase my VERY first creation. A little late I guess since we are also in the middle of my first free pattern but I was in a blogging mood and decided to show it off 🙂

As you can see it is very similar to my mother’s Squirts … and I would say it is part of the Squirt family, albeit a little part! Like I said this is my very first complete crochet creation! I have tried in the past to do scarves and clothes but they ended in disaster! Until this cutie.

Mom showed me how to do the magic circle, which I did. Again, and again until I finally got it right. Then I started on the little squid. She told me how to go about it and as I started I thought the smaller the better right? I mean it would be easier if I didn’t have to do a lot … not really! The smaller the project the harder it is to see those little stitches! I did finish and as you can see below I even added a little flower as a sort of hat for my cutie. Afterall, Squirts aren’t squirts without their accessories!

(Don’t mind my dirty fingernails! Oh my I was gardening Saturday and just can’t seem to get them clean! So embarrassing…)

I found this awesome tutorial on youtube … which is really my best friend right now … I almost followed this one completely but may have made a slight change or two. Check it out below, and be sure to go over and subscribe to the creator they did a great job with this one!

What was your first crochet creation? Who taught you or did you teach yourself? I’d love to see it, share your firsts in the comments below!
